Hey everyone! I just had my latest pull request merged into the ControlCore-Project, and I’m thrilled to share what I worked on. My PR, "Fix: Reuse PairedTransmitter outside loop to prevent repeated ZMQ socket creation (#268)", addresses a sneaky performance bottleneck in the system's telemetry pipeline.

Originally, the codebase was instantiating a PairedTransmitter object directly inside a tight execution loop. This meant a brand-new ZeroMQ (ZMQ) socket was being initialized and torn down on every single iteration—causing unnecessary CPU overhead and risking file descriptor exhaustion. By simply moving the instantiation outside the loop, we can now reuse the existing ZMQ socket connection, making data transmission significantly faster and lighter on resources.

The code review was a fantastic learning experience. One of the lead maintainers kindly pointed out that while moving the object fixed the main performance issue, I should also ensure graceful socket cleanup if a network error interrupts the loop. We had a really friendly back-and-forth on GitHub, and I updated the PR with a try-finally block to guarantee proper resource teardown.

This contribution taught me a ton about socket lifecycles, low-level networking efficiency, and the importance of resource management in high-frequency loops. Plus, working through the review process boosted my confidence in contributing to larger codebases. I'm excited to keep digging into the repository and take on my next issue soon!
